Brahmakamal infused Kumkumadi Tailam By Anahata Organic
We are all familiar with the fabled Kumkumadi Tailam, which includes saffron among many other components. The Ashwini Kumars' heavenly recipe of this traditional and age-old Ayurvedic skin elixir, which is renowned for its luminous qualities, was created. The Ashtanga Hridayam and Bhaisajya Ratnavalli claim that this oil has the power to reverse ageing and offer its user flawless, blemish-free skin.
While a variety of incredibly potent plants and roots are typically used to make the Kumkumadi, there are various different iterations of this serum that have been created employing unusual substances. Among these, the golden Brahmakamal, which blooms only once a year in the lofty heights of the Himalayas, is extremely rare and difficult to find. This flower, often referred to as the nectar of the Gods, is thought to have been produced by Lord Brahma to aid Lord Shiva in placing the elephant's head on Ganesha's body. From its petals, it is reported to have released Amruta, or the elixir that prolongs life, which is credited with saving Lord Ganesha.
Once a year, the flower blooms for a few hours, taking about three hours. While consuming it in any form is thought to aid in detoxification, cleansing, reducing inflammation, healing wounds, and treating any type of skin ailment, seeing it is said to bring luck and fortune.
The Brahmakamal can be located in the upper elevations of the Western Himalayan mountains and is highly revered by the residents there. I had the good fortune to reside in these areas, and it was during this time that I had the opportunity to study how the Brahmakamal Kumkumadi Tailam was traditionally formulated using the Brahmakamal.
Using therapeutic elements including Kesara (saffron), red and white Chandanam, Laksha, Manjishta, Yastimadhu, Bilva, Daruharidra, Vetiver, Padmaka, and Nilotpala as well as two types of banyans, Vata and Plaksha, three types of Kashayam or Kawath are produced. Then, using multiple boiling methods, the Brahmakamal is added to this kashayam. Then, using some Kamala Kesara, Dashamoola, the 10 ayurvedic roots made of Agnimantha, Shyonaka, Gambhari, Patala, Shalaprini, Prishnaparni, Gokshura, Brihati, and Kantankatri are blended in, sesame and coconut oil are added.
